How do I order ACC Championship game or bowl tickets?
Either by using the order cards mailed to you in October or by ordering on-line and observing the following deadlines.
The order cards must be received (not postmarked) at the Athletics Ticket Office prior to 5:00 p.m., Monday, November 17, 2008.
For those season ticket holders who wish to submit their order via the Internet, go to www.hokietickets.com and click on the renewal link. You will need to enter your season ticket customer number found on the ticket application card located above your name and address. Complete the on-line application. All information is kept secure and confidential. Internet orders must be submitted by midnight, November 17.
Since we may not officially know where the Hokies will be playing, if eligible, until early December, it is important that you order tickets to any and all of the events listed on the order cards that you wish to attend. Your credit card will be charged only for the game that involves Virginia Tech. You will not receive tickets for any game not involving Virginia Tech.
Please order carefully because once you place your order it may not be changed.
Can I order tickets by phone or at the ticket office?
Phone orders and over the counter orders (except the return of your order cards) cannot be placed until public sales begin and then only if tickets remain. No orders of any kind can be placed between November 17 and the time public sale begins. Sorry, no fax orders will be accepted.
How can I pay for my tickets?
Visa or MasterCard ONLY! No checks, please.
Since the bowls have multiple ticket prices, what if the tickets I order are sold out?
You will automatically be assigned and charged the next available lowest priced ticket.
What if I order tickets and decide not to go?
Because of the ticketing process associated with the ACC Championship and bowl games, there can be no refunds or cancellations.
What if the Hokies do not qualify for the ACC Championship game or a bowl game?
Your credit card will not be charged unless the team receives an invitation. There will be no transaction.
Are there limits on the number of tickets I can order for each bowl?
Athletic Fund contributors and season ticket holders are restricted to the following priority ticket limits. You may order:
National Championship: Up to 4 tickets total, with all located in priority.
Orange Bowl: Up to 6 tickets total, with all located in priority.
Fiesta Bowl: Up to 6 tickets total, with all located in priority.
Sugar Bowl: Up to 6 tickets total, with all located in priority.
Rose Bowl: Up to 6 tickets total, with all located in priority.
Gator Bowl: Unlimited number of tickets, up to 8 will be placed in priority.*
Chick-fil-A Bowl: Up to 6 tickets total, with all located in priority.
Champs Bowl: Unlimited number of tickets, up to 8 will be placed in priority.*
Emerald Bowl: Unlimited number of tickets, up to 8 will be placed in priority.*
Meineke Car Care Bowl: Unlimited number of tickets, up to 8 will be placed in priority.*
Humanitarian Bowl: Unlimited number of tickets, up to 8 will be placed in priority.*
Music City Bowl: Unlimited number of tickets, up to 8 will be placed in priority.*
Eagle Bank Bowl: Unlimited number of tickets, up to 8 will be placed in priority.*
* Please note that if your order exceeds the priority limit and you desire all of your seats together, you will relinquish your ticket priority.
If I place an order am I guaranteed a ticket?
Depending on the game, it is possible that applications could exceed the Virginia Tech ticket allotment. Ticket orders will be filled in accordance with the Virginia Tech Point Priority System, beginning with the highest point total. It is possible that your priority tickets will be filled and that your additional ticket order outside of priority cannot be filled. When the last order is assigned, any remaining customers will be informed that their order could not be filled and that their account will be credited. If you do not receive notification, you can assume that your ticket order will be filled. Please do not call the Athletic Ticket Office for verification.
Can I sit with a group?
Because of the extremely short turnaround time, there is not sufficient time to provide group seating.
Can someone else use my order form?
No, the order form is non-transferable.
When will tickets be mailed?
ACC Championship tickets will be shipped by Tuesday December 2nd for overnight delivery. Bowl tickets will be shipped at least seven days prior to the game. Tickets will be sent via express courier so you must provide a street address.
Please be aware that a remote possibility exists that Virginia Tech could be invited to play in a bowl game other than those identified on the ticket application. If this should occur, orders for bowl tickets can be placed by calling the Athletics Ticket Office at (540) 231-6731 or 1-800 VA TECH4, or, in person at the ticket office located in Lane Stadium. Under these circumstances, Athletic Fund priority will be extended through December 8, 2008.
